About Joëlle and Anouar's 250k Ultra Challenge

A year and half ago for her birthday, I promised my mother that I would run a race with her. A questionable decision now that I find myself a couple weeks away from taking part in a 250km ultramarathon! 

It's been an interesting journey, taking up running for the first time in my adult life, taking part in my first 20k, and testing out different dehydrated foods to see what I would like during the race. 

The past few months have not been without challenge, both my mother and myself have suffered minor injuries which hopefully will not affect our races too much. However, as we plan for this race, we need to remember that the challenges that we face are nothing compared to those faced by the refugees who are aided by Run HK.

Run HK is charity which is very important for my mother. She has volunteered for them regularly over the past 4 years, and has supported them during her two previous ultramarathons.

Hence why, as we run we will be keeping them in our minds and close to our hearts, and why we would like to help raise as much money as possible to help Run HK keep doing what they do best, helping people!
